Michael Yang (61), who created a venture legend with the online price comparison site “MySimon.com” in Silicon Valley in 1998, is embarking on a motorcycle ride to the northernmost tip of Alaska to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Korea-US alliance. Having enjoyed a stellar first half of his life as a venture capitalist, he is now embarking on a second as an adventurer.

Departing from LA on the 29th, Yang will travel through Utah, Idaho, Montana, and the Canadian Rockies, before reaching Tucktoyaktuck in Canada, where he meets the Arctic Ocean, on the Damson Highway in Dawson City, Yukon Territory. The 500-mile Damson Highway is notorious among motorcyclists for its unpaved nature.
