Kiwanis Club of La Cañada welcomed local entrepreneur and adventurer Michael Yang to its weekly luncheon on Aug. 27 to talk about his recent 37-day, 11,000-mile motorcycle trip from La Cañada Flintridge to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, and back.
Alongside vivid travel stories, Yang shared his personal journey — from immigrating to the U.S. from Seoul at age 14 with limited resources, to earning a degree at UC Berkeley and Columbia University, founding the internet startup mySimon.com (later acquired by CNET), and eventually discovering his passion for long-distance motorcycle travel.
